General Submission Requirements and Judging Criteria

Submissions must be received by March 1, 2024. 

You may enter as many projects from your company that fit the criteria for a category.  Previously submitted projects/transactions are eligible. The project/transaction submitted should have been substantially completed in Indiana between 1/1/2023 and 12/31/2023.

Developer/Owner of the Year Award:

The winner will be selected based on but not limited to: volume and complexity of projects/transactions, risk factor, contribution to community and/or industry, setting new industry standards and overall quality of projects.  Please address all aforementioned criteria. Submissions should encompass all projects/transactions substantially completed by the developer/owner within the 2023 calendar year. Please include ONLY projects/deals in Indiana.*

Transaction of the Year Awards(Office, Industrial, Capital Markets, Multifamily/Mixed-Use): 

This award recognizes parties involved in a real estate transaction who demonstrated creativity in addressing items important to the successful completion of the transaction. The winner will be selected based on but not limited to: creativity and transaction structure, deal complexity, size (both square footage and gross deal value) and client satisfaction. Submissions should describe transaction in detail and should address all aforementioned criteria. A testimonial from the client(s) is encouraged. Submissions should only include transactions completed in Indiana within the 2023 calendar year.*

Developing Leader of the Year Award: 

The recipient must be 35 years of age or under (or less than 5-years of experience in the CRE industry) who has distinguished himself/herself in his/her profession and show great promise as a future leader in the commercial real estate industry. The winner will be selected based on but not limited to: key contributions to the individual’s organization, pace of growth within the industry, NAIOP Indiana involvement, other community involvement and philanthropic efforts. Submissions should address all aforementioned criteria.

People’s Choice Design of the Year Award:

NAIOP Award Dinner attendees will select the winner via live voting during dinner. Submissions should be sourced by an architect, space planner, interior designer, etc. Submissions should include but are not limited to: any interior space design, building design, redevelopment, etc. and must be completed in Indiana in the 2023 calendar year.*

*An image of each project or transaction must be emailed to naiopindiana@gmail.com in jpeg format and minimum 300 dpi as part of your submission.  Examples include: photo of development, photo of the building where the deal was completed, renderings, site plans, floor plans, location map, specifications, etc.
